We gave our first public demonstration of the brand-new Vizrt TriCaster Mini S video switching, recording and streaming system on Nov. 19th, 2024 in Wake Forest, NC. The demo went incredibly well and everyone loved what they saw!

We had a Bird X1, X4 and X5 PTZ video cameras connected to the TriCaster Mini S via NDI. We also had a Canon CR-N300 and a PTZOptics Move 4K cameras connected via NDI, a Marshall PTZ via the Lumens protocol and a PTZOptics webcamera via USB working with the system. We used both a keyboard and mouse plus a TriCaster Mini CS control panel for operating the system. We also had a Mackie audio mixer working with analog sources and connected to the TriCaster Mini S via USB. Finally, to prove the Mini S really is a TriCaster, we had a TriCaster Mini X on the same network with the two systems seeing each other and sharing the same sources. Everything worked flawlessly!

We also had Adobe Premiere and Photoshop running on the TriCaster Mini S system. You can actually have Premiere or Photoshop running in the background and access either program inside the TriCaster switcher interface. We also had Flowics running and remotely created and imported graphics into the TriCaster Mini S.

The TriCaster Mini S by Vizrt is software only, sold without an included host PC and associated video and audio I/O hardware. In its current form, the TriCaster Mini S works with NDI and USB sources only. Initially selling for $1,200.00, the TriCaster Mini S software includes all of the features found with the TriCaster Mini 4K including working with up to eight NDI or USB video sources. We had a Windows 11 host PC built locally. 

A highlight of the demo occurred when we picked up the BirdDog X4 4K PTZ video camera and walked out of the conference room and into the street. The camera, working via Wifi and powered by its internal battery, continued to send its video signal to the TriCaster Mini for an amazingly long time.
